Fish selling is one of the most lucrative business in The Gambia. Most of the meals in The Gambia are described incomplete without fish being present. The population of The Gambia is growing rapidly while tourism at it’s highest peak; so the demand for fish is entirely huge. A lot of households consume fish or fish product everyday in The Gambia, yet more people are unsatisfied with the current supply.
The business ( Lamin’s Fish) will aim at bringing to an end the burden of eating the costly meat and raw rice. We will tackle this problem by supplying a lot fish.
In the rural part of The Gambia, most people are unsatisfied as to the low amount of fish supply to them.
Lamin’s Fish will aim at making fish accessible for all ranging from hotels, lodges, inns, restaurants and other rural communities. We will be involved in all forms of satisfactory fish supply from morning to evening.
This business will be primarily located in the fishing community of Tanji.
To be the ultimate and standout fish supply agent in The Gambia.

1. Within the 5 years, this business will strive to be best fish selling agent with the largest distribution network in The Gambia.

5. We will have a specific distribution team that serves our esteem customers in all cardinal areas.
6. We will introduce a standout way of storing our fish. This will help our fish reach all our customers without being spoiled.
MARKET ANALYSIS AND MARKETING PLAN
There are few people in the Kombo coastal area engaged in such business. In fact, most of them are not natives of Tanji and they sell on small scale. So, the demand for fresh fish has not been fully satisfied and that leads to a scarcity of fresh fish within the rural and tourism industrial areas. Yet, there remains a high level of fresh fish demand.
The customers that will purchase our products are;
. Families/ household
. School Vendors
. Grand event planers
Some of these customers will be reached through;
. Through contract agreement with them.
. Through word of mouth for individuals or households.
. Through the most reliable social media means or phone calls.
. Sponsoring major school events.
MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL PLANS
This business will require an initial capital of D250,000 and within the amount D175,000 will be used to provide a cooler van, processing the documents( license). In the same vein, an amount total to D40,000 will be used to purchase the first fresh fish and D10,000 to be used for cold ice and then cooler boxes will cost D15,000 and finally petrol for the car will cost D5,000 respectively. The remaining D5,000 to be kept for emergency purposes should it arise.
So, from our projection the initial profit will be D100,000 increasingly and the fifth year when the company has already been established the profit will then move by a higher margin of D450,000 accumulatively.
The management team will comprise of well qualified people who have the work experience, will be an educated personnel to be able to read and write. Away from that, this company will provide employment for so many Gambian youths.
Thus, the fund required in this venture will be in a start be a small scale business supplying only within parts of the tourism industrial area and part of the rural areas. The business is entirely new and starting from scratch.
