The village of Tanji is located in the south of The Gambia. A small urban village where facilities are still very limited. For a village like this; it is extra important to offer the children the opportunity to go to school and Momodou Lamin Colley ( Lamin Koopmans), who was born in the village and a teacher, has been lucky enough to be able to go to school to progress through education. However, that is not possible for many children in the poorest part of The Gambia. That is why Lamin wants to allow the children of the village to go to school in their own village. A big school has has been set up for this.
However, primary schools are mostly built by the government but most of the financial dealings are taking care of by the community or philanthropy. That is why we can make good use of any aid for providing good primary education. With the money we can ensure that:
- Teaching materials are available;
- The school can be painted;
- Extra classrooms can be provided, as there are almost 2000 children now and more are coming gives an increasing number of pupils. Any amount for support is more than welcome … On behalf of the toddlers of Tanji LBS, I thank you all for reading and supporting!!
